What is the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program?
The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly internet bills for qualifying low-income households.
Blue Ridge is participating in this program! Eligible households can receive up to a $50/month discount towards their Blue Ridge internet service (25 Mbps or 100 Mbps speeds) and associated equipment rentals. Customers will be responsible for additional equipment, taxes, fees, and/or overage charges and for any amount in excess of $50.
Only one monthly service discount is allowed per household. Please note, Blue Ridge is not participating in the one-time discount towards the purchase of a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer.
Which services are discounted?
Up to 25 Mbps: Includes up to 25 Mbps download, up to 1 Mbps upload, and 500GB monthly data allowance. Monthly service rates vary based on location and TV subscription, where applicable.
Up to 100 Mbps: Includes up to 100 Mbps download, up to 4 Mbps upload, and 1.1TB monthly data allowance. Monthly service rates vary based on location and TV subscription, where applicable.
Modem Lease: We provide the latest DOCSIS 3.1 technology to support your internet service. The equipment rental fee of $5.95/month may be covered under the EBB program. A PON Modem is not reimbursable.
HomeFi Router: Each speed comes with a HomeFi Router unit that will serve as your wireless router. The equipment rental fee of $5.95/month for the HomeFi Router unit may be covered under the EBB program.
Visit our standard pricing page and select your location for full service rate details. Actual speeds may vary; stated speeds are up to subscribed to/stated speed and are not guaranteed. Visit the disclosure page for more information.
How do I know if I am eligible?
To confirm your eligibility to receive this benefit, you must first apply with USAC and receive confirmation that your application has been approved. This step must be completed on your own; Blue Ridge cannot do this step for you. Please go to getemergencybroadband.org to apply online. If you apply online, you may receive an immediate approval. If you apply via mail, there may be a delay receiving approval.
Once you complete the above steps and receive approval, Blue Ridge’s EBB Team can assist you to set up service and apply the discount. Click here to submit a request online, or contact us by phone Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, at 610-826.9896. To complete the enrollment process, you will also need to electronically sign an agreement acknowledging the terms and conditions.
Is the benefit temporary?
Yes. The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program will end when the fund runs out of money, or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares an end to the COVID-19 health emergency, whichever is sooner. We will provide advanced notice around the program end date. Please note, if your household chooses to continue receiving service after the end of the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, it will be billed Blue Ridge’s general monthly rates.
