How do I reboot my phone?
Rebooting a mobile device can fix common issues such as a frozen phone or if it is unresponsive. It can also help clear any issues with apps.
Below you will find basic troubleshooting steps for both iOS and Android devices.
Rebooting a Blue Ridge Mobile Device | iOS
- Press and hold either the volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
- Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off.
- To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.
Rebooting a Blue Ridge Mobile Device | Android
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
- Select Power Off
- Press and hold the power button to turn the device back on.
If the Power Off Menu does not appear follow these steps:
- Hold down the power button for 20 seconds. If no response after 30 seconds skip to step 2:
- Hold down both the power and volume-up buttons. After 20 seconds this should cause the device to turn off. If the device does not reboot on its own press and hold the power key to turn the device back on.
What is the difference between Cellular & Wi-Fi?
There are two separate wireless technologies in common use for wireless devices, right now.
Cellular
- Often referred to as 5G, 4G, LTE, or your carrier's Network.
- Provided by your carrier themselves, using large towers around your city or town, or on top of buildings.
- Long-range, provides large areas of coverage encompassing a neighborhood or even a full town.
Wi-Fi
- Provided by HomeFi or customer-owned routers in their home.
Checking Wi-Fi Connection - Android
- Open Settings on your phone or tablet.
- Select Connections or Network & Internet
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is turned On. If Wi-Fi is off, tap the Wi-Fi slider to turn Wi-Fi back on.
- The device will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks.
- Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to join. Enter password if prompted.

How do I turn on/off Airplane Mode?
iOS Devices

- If you enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in Airplane mode, your device remembers your choice. The next time you turn Airplane mode on, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will remain on.
How do I turn on a Mobile Hot Spot?
iOS Devices
- From a Home screen, tap Settings .
- If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
- Tap Cellular.
- If already set up, Personal Hotspot will appear as an option on the main settings screen.
- Tap Set Up Personal Hotspot.
Once your Personal Hotspot has been set up, you will be able to configure your Personal Hotspot settings.

- Mobile hotspots can be activated on Android by heading to Settings > Network & internet > Hotspot & tethering > Wi-Fi hotspot, and toggle on Use Wi-Fi hotspot.
