What is a seasonal account? / Can I suspend service temporarily?
A seasonal account allows you to turn service off for an extended time when you will be away from home. During a seasonal/temporary suspension, you will not be charged for any deactivated services. Please note: we do ask that services remain active or deactivated for a minimum of 30 days at a time. You do not need to return any equipment if you provide a reconnection date. If your needs change, you may reschedule this reconnection by contacting us before the date originally provided.
You may also remove one service, such as cable, internet, or phone, and keep other services active. If you are receiving promotional pricing, please note that remaining services may be billed at their standalone rates, depending on the services removed.
Reconnection fees will apply when reactivating additional services. Please be advised that if you set up your account as a seasonal, you will not be eligible for promotions when adding new services.
Can I suspend my phone service for the season?
Yes! We offer seasonal phone options.
If you would like to temporarily suspend phone service but keep your same phone number upon reconnection, we offer a seasonal downgrade. A monthly charge of $14.95+tax will apply to keep the phone number active.
Please note that while your phone service is suspended, you will have a dial tone but will be unable to make or receive phone calls. Anyone who calls your number will receive a busy signal. You will still be able to dial 611 and 911 in the event of an emergency. Any dialed number other than 911 or 611 will redirect to 611 automatically. You will not have access to features, such as voicemail and call forwarding.
You may also completely disconnect phone service for the season, but please note you will lose your current phone number. We will provide a new number upon reconnection. While disconnected, no inbound or outbound calls, including 911 calls, will complete.
If you have a home security system that requires active phone service, we do not recommend seasonal phone suspension.
You may seasonally suspend phone service for up to eight months.
What are the associated costs?
The standard reconnection fee is $24.95. If you deactivate service for a period of at least 90 days and provide a reconnection date in advance, you will receive a $10 discount on your reconnection fee. If the technician must enter your home to reinstall any equipment or add additional services, standard installation charges will apply.
Any reconnection fee will apply to your first bill. Your billing dates will remain the same. Therefore, your first bill after reconnecting may include more than one month of service.
