How do I program my DTA remote control?
- Find the manufacturer’s code for your TV.
- Make sure your TV is powered on and you have a solid green light on the front of your DTA Mini Box.
- On your remote, press and hold the [Setup] button until the LED indicator changes from red to green.
- Enter the first manufacturer’s code you found in step 1. The LED indicator will flash green twice.
- Press the [TV Power] button on the remote control. If the TV turns off, that means the code has been accepted. Turn the TV back on and make sure that the [VOL+/-] and [Mute] buttons also work. If so, programming is complete.
- If not, repeat these steps with each of the manufacturer’s codes for your brand of TV. If you still can’t find a code that works, try the Search Method below.
The codes provided did not work. How can I program the remote without a code?
- Make sure your TV is powered on.
- On your remote, press and hold the [Setup] button until the LED indicator changes from red to green.
- Press the yellow [A] button.
- Press the [Channel Up] button multiple times until the TV turns off.
- After the TV turns off, press [Setup]. (Please note: if you press the [Channel Up] button again after the TV turns off, you will not be able to go back to that code. You will need to begin the programming method from the beginning again.)
- If the code was successful, the LED indicator will blink green twice.
My remote will not program for my TV. What do I do next?
If you would like, you can use two remotes— the DTA remote to control your DTA Mini Box controls, and the remote that came with your TV to work power and volume.
You can also program the remote to control volume through the DTA Mini Box’s internal volume. To do that, try the following steps:
- Press and hold [Setup] until the LED indicator turns green on the DTA remote control.
- Press the [VOL -] button.
- The remote will now control the internal volume on the DTA Mini Box. You will see the volume indicator on your screen has a different appearance from the TV’s internal volume.
If you would decide to change the remote back to control the TV’s internal volume, please try the following:
- Press and hold [Setup] until the LED indicator turns green on the remote control.
- Press the [VOL +] button.
Can I pair the DTA remote to the box so that I don’t need to point it directly at the box to change channels?
Yes! You can pair the DTA remote to the box in RF Mode. Please try the following steps:
- Ensure that you have a clear line-of-sight from the remote to the DTA Mini Box during the pairing process.
- Press the orange [Menu] button.
- Select Settings, then Remote Control, then Remote Control Pairing.
- Press and hold the [Setup] button until the LED indicator turns green.
- Press the [Menu] button. Please allow a few seconds for the menu to display.
- Proceed by entering the pairing code displayed in blue on the pairing code pop-up screen. This code is randomly generated. (Please note: if you don’t see a pairing code screen, repeat steps 1 and 2. If the indicator light is red, the remote is still in the original infrared mode.)
How do I unpair the remote from the DTA Mini Box?
- Press and hold the [Setup] button for three seconds until the LED Indicator turns green on the remote control.
- Enter 9-8-7 on the remote control.
- The LED Indicator will blink green twice on the remote control.
My remote does not respond to button presses. What do I do?
First, check to make sure no buttons are stuck. If a button on the remote becomes stuck in, it will prevent other functions from working. Run your fingers over the buttons to dislodge any that may have become stuck.
Next, check if the LED indicator lights up when buttons are pressed. If it does not, try changing the remote’s batteries and test again.
If power and volume controls do not work, make sure the remote is programmed to your TV.
If box functions such as Menu, Guide, and Info do not work, and you have previously paired the remote to your DTA Mini Box, repeat the pairing process and test the remote again.
Please note: if you unpair the remote from the DTA Mini Box, you will need a direct line-of-sight from the remote to the box to change channels. If you wish to keep the box out of sight, please try the pairing steps again.
If only the channel up and down buttons do not work, please see below.
I can type channel numbers in, but the Channel up and down buttons do not work, or only skip to certain channels.
First, press the [Guide] button. Does the onscreen guide appear and state “No favorite channels have been selected”? If so, it means the guide has been set to display only favorites, and your favorite channels have not been selected. The channel up and down will only move between the channels listed in the onscreen guide.
Press the red [C] button on the remote to change the filter to show all channels. Press [Exit] to return to watching TV, and then test the [Channel up] and [Channel down] buttons.
