Blue Ridge HomeFi ℠ powered by eero is an expandable router system that creates a fast, reliable WiFi mesh network in your home to provide exceptional WiFi coverage. The eero system will also self-monitor your internet connection and perform automatic system updates to keep things running smoothly. For ultimate control, eero’s free mobile app notifies you if there’s an issue with the connection, allows you to easily change your network password, helps you set rules for devices in the home, and more.
I picked up a HomeFi kit at the office. How do I set up my network?
After you download the free eero app, this is the screen you’ll see when you launch it.
Please note, to complete the initial installation of the eero unit, you will need a smartphone with its own independent data connection.
Download the eero app from the Apple App Store.
When you click Create Account, enter your full name, mobile phone number, and email address, and then tap Next.
You’ll receive a mobile verification code and an email confirmation.
Agree to the Terms and Conditions by checking the circle. Tap Next when done.
A verification code will be sent to the email address provided. You can click on Use mobile number to verify to receive a text message instead.
Enter the verification code and tap Next to continue.
Once the verification step is completed, you’re ready to set up your network. Tap Start.
Unplug the power from your modem and existing router, and then tap Next.
Plug the main eero unit into the modem using an Ethernet cord. You may use either port on the back of the eero.
Then, tap Next.
Now, it’s time to power up!
Step 1: Plug in your eero using the power cord provided.
Step 2: Plug in the modem power cord.
Wait approximately one minute, and then tap Next.
The next screen will simply advise that the app is looking for your eero. This should only take a few seconds.
Once the eero is detected, you’ll see this screen. Tap Next to set its location and create the network.
Choose the room where the eero is located from the list, or tap Custom location to create a custom location label for your eero.
Congratulations! Your network has been created.
Tap Next.
If you have another eero device, tap the item you’d like to add to your network and follow the prompts. You can also get an overview of the process below.
If you don’t have any more eero devices to add, tap No, I’m all set.
If you tap No, I’m all set, you’ll get the option to connect the device you used for setup to your eero WiFi. You can choose to Skip or Connect.
If you tap Connect, you’ll receive a confirmation pop-up. Tap Join.
To connect other devices, you can scan the provided QR code to join the network quickly. Please note: Available with iOS 11 or later only using the Camera app.
Click Done once you have connected your other devices.
After you tap Join, your setup device will connect, and you’ll see the Welcome screen.
Tap Got It to explore your eero system.
Once your gateway is all set up the app will open you up to the Home screen.
The Home screen will display the devices connected to the eero network. The network name is displayed at the top of the Home screen and it will tell you whether the network is online or not.
There will also be a pop-up letting you know of any NEW updates or product features.
I picked up an additional eero device. How do I add it to my network?
Once your network is created, you can add additional eero units to enhance your network.
Tap the + button, and then tap Add an eero device. Choose which eero device you would like to add.
The app will lead you through several tip screens to help you place your equipment in locations that will ensure the best WiFi coverage.
If you choose to add another eero Pro, you’ll need the eero unit and its power cord to start the setup. Tap Next.
Plug in the eero Pro and follow the placement instructions.
Place your eero device, plug it in, and then tap Next.
Once the eero Pro is detected, tap Run Placement Test.
Click Next to continue with setting its location.
Choose the room where the eero is located from the list, or tap Custom location to create a custom location label for your eero.
Congratulations! Your eero Pro is set up.
Tap Next.
On the Add another eero device screen, tap No, I’m All Set if you do not have any other eero devices to set up.
If you choose to add an eero Beacon, you’ll see this screen.
The eero Beacon includes a nightlight. The nightlight will automatically turn on or off depending on the brightness of the room when enabled. This setting can be adjusted in the app or with the button on the side of the Beacon.
Go to an available wall outlet where you’d like to install your Beacon and tap Next.
Plug in the eero Beacon, and then tap Next to start the eero Beacon set-up.
The app will start looking for your eero Beacon. The Beacon’s LED will start blinking blue to show that it’s in pairing mode. It will turn solid blue after it’s been found.
Once the eero Beacon is detected, click Run Placement Test.
Click Next to continue.
Choose the room where the eero is located from the list, or tap Custom location to create a custom location label for your eero.
Congratulations! Your eero Pro is set up.
Tap Next.
Troubleshooting
If the app can’t detect the eero nearby, you’ll see this screen. Make sure the eero device is plugged in and blinking blue, and that you’re near the eero. If everything seems ready, you can press Try Again or Set up using serial number.
