Locate the Fiber/PON Modem in your home, the PON modem is wall mounted as close as possible to the entry point in your home.
- Confirm Your Fiber/PON Modem Is Powered On
- Ensure the Fiber/PON modem has power, and the optical connection is live - fiber jumper is connected to the WAN port.
- Look for steady lights solid green indicating the device is active.
- Lights turn green, Power Light (was connected to Power), Broadband Light (Connected to Blue Ridge PON), Service Light (Provisioned & Online)
- Connect Your Router or HomeFi (eero) Unit to the PON Modem
- Unplug your previous external router (if applicable)
- Use an Ethernet cable:
- Connect one end into the Ethernet port on the PON Fiber modem.
- Connect the other end into the Ethernet port on your router or HomeFi device
- Power On Your Router/HomeFi Unit
- Plug in your router or main eero device.
- Complete Router/Wi-Fi Setup
- If you’re using HomeFi, follow the eero app steps:
- Download the app
- Create/sign into an account
- Follow on-screen guidance to finish setup and name your Wi-Fi network
- Add additional units if applicable (Link to HomeFi Self-Install Instructions for Android and iOS)
- If you’re using HomeFi, follow the eero app steps:
- Test Your Internet
- Connect a device (phone, laptop) to Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet
- Open a browser and verify websites load
