What is Cloud DVR?
Cloud DVR is DVR service available with Blue Ridge Stream, which allows you to record programming. These programs will not be physically stored on the Blue Ridge Stream device, but will reside online, accessible by any Blue Ridge Stream unit in your home. Recordings can also be accessed from supported devices connected to your wifi or mobile network via the Blue Ridge Stream app.
Also included with Cloud DVR, a new feature called SOCU (Start Over/Catch Up) allows you to select currently-airing programs from your onscreen guide and start them over from the beginning.
Four levels of Cloud DVR service are available:
- 25 Hours saved for 10 days
- 75 hours saved for 30 days
- 150 hours saved for 90 days
- 300 hours saved for 180 days (no longer available for new subscriptions)
Once you have reached your storage capacity, the Cloud DVR will delete the oldest recordings to make room for new ones. Otherwise, recordings will remain available until you delete them, or the storage time limit expires, whichever occurs first.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my Cloud DVR?
You do have the ability to add Cloud DVR to Blue Ridge Stream, or increase or reduce the level of your Cloud DVR service at any time. Please contact us to do so.
Please note: In the event you downgrade your Cloud DVR to a level with a lower recording capacity, the oldest recordings will be deleted until your remaining storage is 98% full. For example: If you have 150 hours recorded, and reduce your service to 75 hours, the oldest 76.5 hours of recordings (approximate) will be erased.
