What is the Blue Ridge Stream app? What are the requirements to use the app? What devices are compatible?
If you subscribe to Blue Ridge Stream with Live TV, the Blue Ridge Stream app allows you to stream live TV, access Video on Demand, and view your program guide.
Additionally, Cloud DVR subscribers can set, watch, and manage recordings, utilize the SOCU (Start Over/Catch Up) feature, and access the To Do List.
The Blue Ridge Stream app is available for Apple or Android smartphones and tablets, Android TV, Apple TV, or Fire TV.
If watching on a TV app such as through Apple TV or Fire TV, the interface and navigation will match that of your Blue Ridge Stream unit. However, you will need to use the remote control that came with your streaming device.
Please note: The Blue Ridge Stream app supports:
- Up to 18 devices per account
- Up to 5 simultaneous streams per account
How do I download or set up the Blue Ridge Stream app?
On a mobile device (Apple or Android smartphone or tablet):
- First, make sure you have registered a My Blue Ridge account.
- Download and install the Blue Ridge Stream app from your device’s app store.
- Launch the app and sign in with your My Blue Ridge account.
On a streaming media device (Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV):
- First, make sure you have registered a My Blue Ridge account.
- Download and install the Blue Ridge Stream app from your device’s app store.
- Launch the app. You may be required to sign in with your My Blue Ridge account, or activate with an onscreen code by visiting brctv.com/activate from a different device.
- Review and accept the TiVo User Agreement and Privacy Policy.
- The interface and navigation will match the TiVo Experience such as on a Blue Ridge Stream unit or TiVo DVR. Use the remote control that came with your streaming device.
How do I navigate the Blue Ridge Stream mobile app?
Please note: The following instructions are for the Blue Ridge Stream app on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet).
Launch the app and sign in with your My Blue Ridge account.
- On an Apple device, select an option from the bottom taskbar.
- On an Android device, tap the Menu
button in the top left for further options.
- Tap What to Watch for recommended and available programs.
- Tap On Demand to find, rent, or watch Video on Demand.
- Tap Guide to view programs that are currently airing. Search by text or voice using the magnifying glass icon. Tap the date/time menu to select and jump to a specific date and time. Swiping right/left within the programming information moves you to the next 1/2 hour of programming guide data. Press and hold a channel's program to display current viewing options and show details.
- For Cloud DVR subscribers: The
icon indicates you can restart this program from the beginning. Press and hold the show to display the options.
- For Cloud DVR subscribers: The
- Tap More to access the options to manage your account.
- Tap Manage to access your To Do List of scheduled recordings, or OnePass Manager.
- Tap Settings to sign out of your account, access parental controls, or edit guide preferences or favorite channels.
How do I set a OnePass or Cloud DVR recording?
Please note: The following instructions are for the Blue Ridge Stream app on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet). A subscription to Cloud DVR is required to record programs to the cloud. If you do not have Cloud DVR, you can still set a OnePass, but you will only have access to On Demand or streaming options to watch the program.
- Tap the magnifying glass in the top right to open the Search Box. Search for the program. Tap on it from the drop-down list. Alternately, on an Apple device, select Guide in your bottom taskbar; on Android, tap the Menu
button in the top left, and then tap Guide. Locate the program in the schedule and tap on it.
- This will open up the show or series page. You can view cast and crew information and upcoming episodes.
- Tap Get This Show (or Get This Movie). You will find the option to Record Movie, Record Episode (which will record the next-airing episode of the series)or Create OnePass. Alternately, for series, tap Upcoming to select a specific upcoming episode. Tap on that episode, and then tap Get This Show for a list of options, including Bookmark Episode.
- If you select Record Episode or Record Movie, verify the channel and time and choose your preferred recording options. Tap Create Recording. A confirmation will briefly appear.
- If you select Create OnePass, choose your preferred options, such as whether to include rentals, record new or reruns, which channel to record, and how long to keep the recording (scroll down if needed to see all available). Tap Create OnePass. A confirmation will briefly appear.
- Please note: If you do not have Cloud DVR, you can still set a OnePass, but you will only have access to On Demand or streaming options to watch the program.

- If you select Bookmark, this will not record the program, but will provide a link to the show or episode in My Shows, which will allow you to access a Video on Demand or streaming video option such as Netflix or Prime Video.
How do I view my To Do List? How do I cancel a scheduled Cloud DVR recording?
Please note: The following instructions are for the Blue Ridge Stream app on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet).
On an Apple device, in the bottom taskbar, tap More, and then tap Manage. On an Android device, tap Menu , and then tap Manage. By default, the To Do List will appear. You can view scheduled recordings here.
- Tap on a program to be taken to the page for that show or series.
- Depending on the program, tap Modify, or select the upcoming episode you have scheduled to record, and then tap
to view your options for that recording.
- Modify Recording Options will allow you to change the recording options for that show, such as the start and stop time. Tap Modify Recording to update. A confirmation will briefly appear.

Cancel Recording will ask you to tap OK if you’re sure you wish to cancel.
How do I stream Live TV?

- On an Apple device, in the bottom taskbar, tap Guide. On an Android device, tap Menu

- Press and hold a show's guide information to display viewing options
- From the program’s info screen, you will see a Play Below that, the default option should say Live TV. Tap the Play button to watch the show live, or tap the drop-down arrow next to Live TV for other options (such as Start Over, Netflix, etc.)
- While watching the program, tap on the screen to display controls:

- Pause, skip back, skip forward, or drag the white circle on the green play bar to rewind or fast-forward.
- Catch Up: If SOCU is available, starts the program from the beginning.
- Done: Exits playback.
- Channel name/number: Overlays the Guide on top of your livestream.
- ⓘ: Program information.
- Volume bar: Drag the white circle on the blue bar to raise or lower the volume.
- Speech balloon: Turn closed captions on or off, or change the audio language.
How do I stream a Cloud DVR recording?
Please note: The following instructions are for the Blue Ridge Stream app on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet).
- On an Apple device, in the bottom taskbar, tap My Shows. On an Android device, tap Menu
, and then tap My Shows.
- Locate and tap the recording you wish to view. If it’s a folder containing multiple episodes, first tap the folder, and then locate and tap the episode of your choice.
- If a recording exists, the recording’s info screen will display My Recording underneath the Play button.
- If you’ve bookmarked the show but did not record it, you may see Blue Ridge On Demand, Live or Prime Video. Tap the drop-down for other streaming options. Please note: Prime Video may require a purchase through your Amazon account.
- To play the program, with My Recording displayed, tap the Play button. You may see a Setting up your streaming pop-up, and then your show will play.
- While watching the program, tap on the screen to display controls:
- Pause, skip back, skip forward, or drag the white circle on the green play bar to rewind or fast-forward.
- Done: Exits playback.
- Channel name/number: Overlays the Guide on top of your livestream.
- ⓘ: Program information.
- Volume bar: Drag the white circle on the blue bar to raise or lower the volume.

How do I use the SOCU (Start Over/Catch Up) feature?
Please note: The following instructions are for the Blue Ridge Stream app on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet).
- On an Apple device, in the bottom taskbar, tap Guide. On an Android device, tap Menu
, and then tap Guide.
- Programs offering the Start Over/Catch Up option will display the whiteSOCU icon next to the title of the show. Tap on one of these programs.
- From the program’s info screen, you will see a Play button. Below that, the default option should say Live TV. Tap the drop-down arrow next to Live TV and select Start Over. (Depending on the program, it may instead display as Catch Up or Blue Ridge SoCu.) You may see a Setting up your streaming pop-up, and then your show will play.
- While watching the program, tap on the screen to display controls:
- Pause, skip back, skip forward, or drag the white circle on the green play bar to rewind or fast-forward.
- Done: Exits playback.
- Channel name/number: Overlays the Guide on top of your stream.
- ⓘ: Program information.
- Volume bar: Drag the white circle on the blue bar to raise or lower the volume.

How do I stream Video on Demand?
Please note: The following instructions are for the Blue Ridge Stream app on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet). Video on Demand is only available on the BR Stream app for customers with physical eStream equipment. TiVO BYO customers will not have access to VOD.
- On an Apple device, in the bottom taskbar, tap On Demand. On an Android device, tap Menu
, and then tap On Demand.
- Categories of On Demand content will appear across the top of the screen. Scroll from side to side to see all available categories. Tap on a category to view further subcategories. These categories will match those available in the Video on Demand menu on your Blue Ridge Stream unit. Navigate through the categories and select a program.
- For example, to locate an episode of Grey’s Anatomy on ABC, you can go to HD on Demand > Free HD > ABC > Grey’s Anatomy, then tap on the episode of your choice.
- If you have already ordered a program through your cable box, so long as you are still within the rental window, it will appear under the My Saved Programs category on the app.
- Once you have selected an individual program, you will be taken to that episode or movie’s info screen. Underneath the Play icon at the top, you should see Blue Ridge on Demand listed. Tap this to view other streaming options.
- To play the program, tap the Play button. You may see a Setting up your streaming pop-up, and then your show will play.
- Please note: Any Video on Demand program that requires a purchase must be ordered from your cable box. Purchases cannot be made in-app. If you navigate to a program that requires a purchase, it will state Renting prohibited on mobile devices. Once purchased from your cable box, you can access and play the program from the My Saved Programs category.
- Any On Demand content included free with your subscription can also be ordered at any time through the app.
- Other messages will advise if the program is included with your subscription, and the date/time at which the program will cease to be available.
- While watching the program, tap on the screen to display controls:
- Pause, skip back, skip forward, or drag the white circle on the green play bar to rewind or fast-forward. Please note: Fast forward may be disabled on some VOD programs.
- Done: Exits playback.
- ⓘ: Program information.
- Volume bar: Drag the white circle on the blue bar to raise or lower the volume.
- Speech balloon: Turn closed captions on or off, or change the audio language. You may need to scroll to see all available options.
Why is the app asking for a PIN? / I did not set up a PIN. What is my PIN? / How do I set parental controls?
Please note: The following instructions are for the Blue Ridge Stream app on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet).
Because safeguarding your family is important, Parental Controls have been activated within the app. The default PIN is 9999.
To change your PIN, or make any changes to your Parental Controls from within the app:
- From an Apple device, tap the More button in the bottom right of your screen, and then tap Settings. From an Android device, tap Menu
, and then tap Settings.
- Tap Parental Controls.
- You will be asked to enter the current PIN. The initial default PIN is 9999. From the next screen, select from the following options:
- If you wish to turn off Parental Controls, tap the toggle at the top of the screen to switch Parental Controls Off.
- Toggle Lock Parental Controls on to enable and lock in the options you select within this menu. Unlocking the controls will allow you to view blocked programs without the PIN for your current app session.
- Tap Hide Adult Content to hide titles of adult programming from your guide.
- Choose Set Rating Limits to select the highest allowed TV or movie rating.
- Tap Change PIN to create a new PIN.
- First, enter the current PIN. The initial default PIN is 9999.
- Enter your new PIN.
- Enter the new PIN a second time to confirm.
Can I still watch a Cloud DVR recording even if I’m not connected to the internet?
No. Because the recordings are not stored locally or on the Stream device itself, you do not have access to them without an internet connection.
Help! I’m having trouble with logging in.
Have you registered a My Blue Ridge account?
Are you able to sign into your My Blue Ridge account on www.brctv.com/login? If not, please try the Forgot Username and Forgot Password links provided on the login page.
If you are a Blue Ridge Stream subscriber without Live TV, and attempt to log into the Blue Ridge Stream app, you will see this Log In Error, stating your Password is invalid:
In the event you have reached your limit of five devices, or you are a Live TV subscriber who only has DTA boxes within your home, the app will display this Sign In Error:

The below devices are known to be compatible with the Blue Ridge Stream app, which is required for the TiVoBYO service.
