What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-Factor Authentication adds an additional step to your login process. After entering your password, you’ll receive a unique code sent to your registered device. This means that even if someone manages to obtain your password, they won’t be able to access your account without that second piece of information.
2FA options
We offer two options for 2FA. Text Message link OR Emailed link.
To enroll, simply use the checkbox to select the text or email option.
- The email will automatically be sent to the email associated with your My Blue Ridge account.
- If selecting the text option, simply input your Mobile Phone Number
What are Passkeys?
Passkeys are a modern alternative to traditional passwords. They use biometric credentials (like your fingerprint), making it nearly impossible for unauthorized users to gain access. With Passkeys, you can enjoy a seamless login experience without the hassle of remembering complex passwords.
If your devices support Passkey Authentication, we recommend using it!
What devices work with Passkey Authentication?
Passkey Authentication works with your device’s built-in security features, like fingerprint scans or facial recognition. This is common on smartphones.
With a special Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) device, users can log in securely without remembering a password.
At this time, Passkey Authentication on our My Blue Ridge Mobile App is not supported on the Android App. We encourage Android app users to use 2FA enrollment options.
What is FIDO?
- A FIDO device is a small hardware tool that verifies your identity to access online accounts. FIDO stands for Fast Identity Online and uses public key encryption to make logging in more secure and convenient.
- FIDO devices can be plugged into a computer or connected wirelessly. FIDO devices look similar to USB flash drives and work in a similar way. You’ll need to touch the device to confirm its operation.
- Please note, Blue Ridge does not provide FIDO devices.

How to Get Started
Already have a My Blue Ridge account?
It only takes a few minutes to get started:
1. Log in to your My Blue Ridge account on the app or website.
2. Click "Secure Your Account" from the banner at the top of the screen.
3. Select between Passkey Authentication or Two-Factor Authentication, then follow the prompts to enable.
New to My Blue Ridge
No problem! Here’s how you can create an account and secure it with 2FA or Passkeys:
1. Visit brctv.com/register.
2. Complete the My Blue Ridge Account Setup process, including verifying your account and setting security questions.
3. Once you’re registered, log in and choose to secure your account with 2FA or Passkeys.
