Can I bring an existing phone number over to Blue Ridge?
Yes! If the number originates from the local area in which you live, we can transfer a number you currently use with another provider over to Blue Ridge Digital Phone service. This is called porting the number.
We will ask you for the account number and passcode from your existing provider in order to port your number. Please note, you will need to keep phone service active with the other provider until we have verified that the number porting process is complete.
To manage the porting process, Blue Ridge’s phone department will contact the company that currently provides service to the number on your behalf. (That’s why we need your account number and passcode.) Disconnecting with that provider before we do so may cause the number to be lost.
After we have verified that your number has been successfully ported, you may confirm cancellation with your previous provider.
