How do I program the Simplicity remote to control my DTA Mini Box?

  1. Turn on your TV set.
  2. Press and hold the [SEL] and [MUTE] buttons at the same time until the LED lights up and stays lit.
  3. Enter the 3-digit code for your TV brand in the TV Setup Code list (see attached file at the bottom of this article) and enter it on the keypad of the remote control. The correct code will turn your TV off.
  4. As soon as the turns TV off, press [MUTE]. Your TV should turn back on. If your TV does not turn on, continue entering the remaining codes until the TV turns on.
  5. Once the TV turns back on, press [SEL] to lock in the code. The LED will blink and go out.
  6. To place the remote back into Cable Mode, press and hold [CBL POWER] and [MUTE] together until the red LED stays lit.
  7. Enter the code 9-9-9. The LED light will blink three times and go out.

 

Can I program my remote without a code?

If no code is listed for your TV brand, or if the included codes do not work, please try the Code Search method:

  1. Turn on your TV set.
  2. Press and hold [SEL] and [MUTE] at the same time until the LED lights up and stays lit.
  3. Press and hold the [CH Up] button until the TV turns off. As soon as the TV turns off, release the [CH Up]
  4. Press [MUTE]. If your TV:
    1. Turns back on, press [SEL/OK] to lock in the code. The LED will blink and go out.
    2. Does not turn back on, press [CH Down] one press at a time until the TV turns back on. Each time you press the [CH Down] button, the LED will blink.
  5. Once you have found a code that turns your TV on/off, press [SEL/OK] to lock in the code. The LED will blink and go out.
  6. To place the remote back into Cable Mode, press and hold [CBL POWER] and [MUTE] together until the red LED stays lit.
  7. Enter the code 9-9-9. The LED light will blink three times and go out.

 

Help! The above methods did not work.

It is possible to control volume through the cable box’s internal volume, rather than your TV set’s volume. You will still need to use your TV set’s original remote to turn the TV on and off.

To program the remote to control the cable box volume:

  1. Press and hold [CBL POWER] and [MUTE] at the same time until the LED lights up and stays lit.
  2. Press [VOL Up], then [CBL POWER]. The LED will blink and go out.
